Over the years, my passion for knitting and design has led me to explore various creative avenues, one of which was collaborating with Hobbycraft. This experience was a fantastic opportunity to blend my love for fibre arts with innovative project ideas, making knitting and crafting more accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience. Here are some of the designs I had the pleasure of creating while working with Hobbycraft:

1. Knitted Toadstool Cushion

The Toadstool Cushion is one of my favourite whimsical creations. Inspired by forest adventures, this cushion adds a playful, cottagecore touch to any space. Its vibrant colours and unique shape make it a standout piece, perfect for nurseries or cosy corners. This beginner-friendly free pattern focuses on simple shaping techniques to create the iconic toadstool cap and stalk.

2. Chunky Knitted Christmas Tree Cushion

The Christmas Tree Cushion brings a festive flair to your home decor. Designed to capture the essence of a cosy holiday season, this project incorporates textured stitches to mimic the look of a real tree. It’s a great project for knitters looking to add a handmade touch to their Christmas decorations, and it makes a fantastic gift.

3. Knitted Cable Beanie Hat

The Cable Beanie Hat is a timeless accessory showcasing classic cable knitting techniques. This pattern was designed to cater to knitters who want to challenge themselves with intricate cables while creating a practical and fashionable piece. The beanie’s snug fit and cosy texture make it an ideal project for the colder months.

4. Knitted Bunting

I designed a festive Jubilee Bunting pattern to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. This project is perfect for adding a touch of patriotic flair to any celebration. It features a series of colourful, triangular flags that are easy to knit and can be customised with different colour schemes to suit any occasion.

5. Macrame Lantern Garland

Stepping away from knitting, I also had the chance to experiment with macramé. The Macrame Lantern Garland is a unique, boho-inspired piece that brings a warm glow to any space. It’s a versatile project that combines macramé techniques with lighting elements, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy trying new crafts.

Designing for Hobbycraft allowed me to experiment with different themes, techniques, and materials. Each pattern tells its own story, whether it’s celebrating a special occasion or adding a touch of handmade charm to your home. Through these projects, I aimed to inspire fellow crafters to explore their creativity and take pride in their handmade creations.

If you’re looking to dive into a new knitting or crafting project, I hope these designs spark some inspiration. Stay tuned for more patterns and creative ideas as I continue my journey in the world of knitwear design!
